New language, new direction, new content
Over the last couple of years, this blog has gone stale. I intend to change that and produce more content when I learn something new. This new content will still cover a lot of the things you're used to: software design, architecture, domain-driven design, and distributed systems. What it will most likely not cover anymore is PHP content. For PHP engineers, I believe the content will remain relevant for you, but you will need to do the language translation yourself.
The reason for not writing about PHP is simple. Professionally, I do not write PHP anymore; I haven't for quite some time. My PHP exposure now only comes from my open-source contributions. I still maintain a number of packages like Flysystem and EventSauce. These packages are largely feature-complete and only require a little bit of support, but I cannot justify spending unpaid time on new features. I have a high-intensity job and a family to take care of, so content and work need to align to make it worthwhile.
What's next?
At Duna, the language of choice is TypeScript. New content on this blog will most likely be written in that language rather than PHP.
I wanted to be upfront about this change, so people can unsubscribe if they're not interested in the new content. I hope you stick around, but if not, no hard feelings.
Until the next post!
